How Social Media is MAKING History

Let’s get beyond the gee whiz over technology and talk about a time when every consumer of media is a producer of media.

That time is here.

  1. Great discussion about how social capital and communication is changing before our very eyes AND ears – how we communicate as individuals and groups…

Would be interesting to view this 1 year from today to see what transpires from this point in time.

Thanks for sharing Clay’s video Warren!

  3. Very interesting presentation on social media. I do think the technology is making national governments take notice, especially given the US asked Twitter to postpone maintenance while the issues in Iraq were going on.

Decentralizing the ability to spread news and discussions makes it far harder for governments to keep control. It is far more than a social media issue it is a very deeply political one as well.

  5. Great Vid! Clay Shirky is sharp! His description of the changing media puts it into context. Social media is changing our world. And, it’s great to part of it – spotting your link on Twitter, watching the vid and leaving a comment. Cheers, Geoff
