Homeless Use Social Media

Mark Horvath has an inspirational story for anyone looking to discover ways social media can be profitable.

We met Mark at Blogworld 2010 and caught him for a short interview

Gray Haired Man Mistook for Teenager

Blogworld’s opening night party was held a Liquid, which I assume is a cool club at the new Aria Hotel… but I will never know.

Security henchman outside the club checked ID’s of attendees and when I let them know that I had left mine some miles away in my valeted car, I smiled and asked that they look at my face and hair and guess if I was old enough to get into the club.  Besides, I don’t drink and did not intend to order anything tonight.

CIMG0150 Evidenced by this recent photo, there should be no mistake about my age. There likely is some rule or law involved.. if so, it’s not a helpful one.

I suppose I could take it as a compliment.. looking so young to them.

No loss for me not getting into this club. I may have done a review stating how neato the design was, but instead I’m saying it was a bad experience that left me less impressed with MGM and mega resorts in general.

In the spirit of Blogworld and lessons in social media, I had to post this and add my voice to the idea that we might be trying to hard to secure ourselves and in the process, deny us liberties in the process.

How Not To Use Video To Sell a Book

It was all coming together nicely.

I’m at Blogworld Expo to get blogger input on what makes for Profitable Social Media and saw a opportunity to make a lot of videos I could share with you here.

Plus, my friend Scott Stratten was holding a pre-Blogworld Tweetup with hundreds of these bloggers celebrating the release of the book and their first night in Vegas.

Here’s how the live broadcast turned out.
