I’ve been experimenting with a couple of tools that bridge databases to make it easier to reach friends and contacts where they want to be reached.
We’ll have an update on this weeks Social Media Radio Show.. including some stats on what social networks have the best connections and how one site promises to get 43% of your email list to open an email (unheard of on some mailing lists today).
With Facebook opening profiles to the search engines by default, this is going to get easier. I think that soon we’ll be able to talk directly to a contact in exactly the way they want to hear from us.. Text, Tweet, Post or Email. In the mean time, let’s make it easier to show where we want to be reached.
BusinessCard2 is trying to do that. I just updated my entry. You can get your own there free.
Hi Warren! How are you planning to use this new tool? I'd like a little more insight in your plans… Thanks for sharing!

Good question.
I'm experimenting now. As we speak, I just sent a few test emails with that businesscard2 button. So far, I don't like the way they look in my email software.
Moving forward, I'm considering paying extra for the increased deliverablity of a system that will deliver a message where my reader wants.
I'll report more here as we discover what works.
Thanks Warren. As an FYI, we just released the new Billboard, Slideshow, and Video features in BusinessCard2.
Although managing your existing contacts is important, we see an equal or possibly larger opportunity by connecting with those who you don't already know. We are working on what we believe will be compelling technology to give your BusinessCard2 new places to live (places where the people who you want to know about you can find and discover more about you). We'll be releasing an early version of this first-of-its-kind technology in January 2010.
Being able to communicate with your clients/prospects/etc in the manner they choose would be a great way to personalize your message. I run into the problem of having to manage too many accounts just to keep up with messages and people too. When you start looking at Facebook, Twitter, MySpace (yes its still relevant) your blog, half a dozen email addresses, etc, your head starts to swim before you get done.
Having one place to set them all up and manage what goes where would be a blessing!!
natural to get into overwhelm mode, but when you use it as a excuse to stop trying, you loose.

Points well taken about how we control how we connect on social media. Love the “business card.” Thanks for the heads up.
I try to use any technology that reaches readers where they might be looking for me. We occasionally get a dead end.. but find many new connections with readers and report the best here
