Once you know you have something of value to offer, profiting from social media is simple
- Create great content
- Make it easy to share
- Listen and Love
At ProftiableSocialMedia, we like to focus on profitable ideas to help you grow your business, but sometimes all you need is a sponsor with a super prize. Read the sponsored promotion, then let’s talk about how you will use the 3 steps above to profit.
Tracky is Giving Away This Kindle Fire
When the clock runs out, we award the prize. Tracky is a start up using the 3 simple steps to promote their upcoming launch. I saw a demo last year, and now I’m using Tracky myself (this promotion is coordinated on Tracky). Tracky has created great content. Once you sign up, you’ll see this. and want to share it. I know the people at Tracky know the value of listen and love,so they are already using the steps. But how do you get those first customers to see your product’s value? You sponsor a giveaway!
It’s Easy. Just Click to Win
Tracky want you to sign up free for their service. I’d like you to profit from the content I create. We both win when you are more profitable, so we went to RaffleCopter and created this simple contest. All you got to do is click on the buttons to share. Something I you would do anyway. As you click on the buttons to share, you will find more of the content. Even though it feels like you have seen this before, it’s very common that readers miss great content. I hope you’ll see some of the social media news, informative interviews (not just Social Media Radio) and more fun. Of course, it’s very likely that you’ll see Tracky pop up on some of my favorite sharing sites. We all have some fun sharing, you start thinking of how the 3 steps will profit you and projects get done faster by millions of people using Tracky. The world will be a better place
Did You Enter? Great. More About the 3 Steps
I like this age of authentic transparency. Once I got used to you seeing my “warts and all” and letting everyone inside to see how things work, I enjoy not having secrets. And, I discover that the more you share, the more you get
Whenever I take on a new client, set up a joint venture, or create a promotion. I use the same structure I shared in the Social Media Profit Checklist. First off, I had to check to see where the profits on this promotion. Giving away a Kindle will get some extra visits to my web site but that would be worthless if I did not have the book and business behind it. Tracky is run by some great people, is wonderful software and is at the heart of what I think is the nexus for future growth in the Las Vegas economy. The sponsored promotion they are doing with me fits, but that’s not a reason to be in business.
Fortunately, I’ve been through the Simple Social Media Profit Formula and know how valuable each reader can be. The contest was a no-brainer for me.
Usually, I tell clients to avoid buying readers with a contest, but the content of this contest was a match and I saw how I could tailor it to a message I want to share with you (you’re reading it) and stay consistent with my brand. Easy sharing is built into the contest by Rafflecopter. Even so, I like offer you a easy sharing on anything here. There’s a floating bar to the left to click whenever you want, and the meme I talk about are specifically worded to make them sharable.
Again, it’s pretty easy to say “prize” or “free” but I spend more time writing headlines and tweets than anything else. The message need to be as simple as bacon and eggsThe other secret to sharing is reciprocity. Make sure you are sharing more of about other people than you share about yourself. This has a huge added benefit in that everyone you know plus everything you read is way more interesting than what you are selling. It’s like Chris Brogan says:
“Always have something to sell, but don’t always be selling it.”
I’ve saved the best for last. These two words sum up what I think will be the best business strategy for the future. It’s been taught in many ways for thousands of years as the way to live. Finally, technology allows us to listen and love like never before.
LISTEN: Every customer, phone call, email, comment, tweet is an opportunity for a conversation. If you listen, you will hear people looking for help. When you help them get what they want, they invariably will be more prone to get you what you want. We were taught business in the 20th Century, a unique time when one way communications made broadcasting and marketing a game of big towers and giant numbers. There wasn’t a way to listen to the TV viewer or newspaper reader in real time. Today, all that’s changed. And you are in on this early. Learn to listen and you’ll be ahead of the competition
LOVE: It simple. Treat people like you would treat the people you love. I’m not talking about romance here. I’m talking doing what you know is right. Sometimes, it’s as simple as that. Think about a time when you called a corporate office, got put on hold, then transferred to a phone that wasn’t answered. When you tried again, you heard “that’s not my department” Is this how you want to be treated? No one else likes it either.
Once you have learned to listen, you’ll know what to do. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Think about the experience that they have with you, your social media content, your sales process, products and company. Make every interaction with anyone a reason for them to say WOW. Like @Zappos says, you want to be delivering happiness.
Agreed. Great content. We just researched and found to successfully grow your social networking presence, increase site traffic, and exceed your wildest expectations of overall improvement, there is one simple tool you can utilize to achieve these seemingly daunting tasks, and that is to create a contest. http://plum11.wordpress.com/2012/03/14/239/

You read my blog and “place an ad in the comments” came to mind?
I won’t be looking at the link, an recommend that anyone wanting long term results from social media avoid this pratice
My first time to your blog… very cool info, thanks!
Carrie
Glad you liked it.
My plans are to be a winner.
Joyce,
If you follow the 3 steps I’m talking about here, you will be a winner.
The Kindles will look like a blip in comparison. (but best of luck there too)
I like the way you have all the “do it’s” together! Great way to get to know your product or each other. Tracky is a great idea!
Just trying to understand what tracky is and does. Seems like a lot of hoops and a contest. Not sure I get it.
Thank you for the feedback.
The post was trying to do several things at once and I think we kinda lost our way.
Normally I talk about strategies and ideas, give tips about use of something. Here, I realize there is no “shared knowedge” about what is going on. Add to that a new idea for a promo, and me usually being “anti giveaway”
I’ve learned a lot, and now writing a “what is Tracky” post that will be up shortly.
I’m not sure what I’d use it for – I’ll need to get access and check around inside it before I decide if I’m ready to take on one more social media responsibility.
Thanks for making me aware of it.
Connie
You are right Connie.
I have seen bits and pieces of Tracky for nearly a year as it was being developed. I liked what I saw, but it was hard to describe that.
Then last Monday, we set up my account. What I noticed was how little we talked about “how” to use the software. I was just typing in some things that needed to be done to run their widget and how I wanted to share the post.
Tracky is project management.. but nothing like any project management software I’ve ever seen.
This sounds very interesting! It could help me keep organized! Being a SAHM and homeschooling, there are lots of things that need to remembered! Kindle Fire would be great to have since I don’t have a internet phone and also a great tool for the kids for school!! Thanks for the opportunity to win one!
Tracky will work from your computer. And the prize would be a nice bonus
If I understand it correctly I think I can use Tracky for many things. I want to use it to organize my home based cleaning business and expand it. I also want to use it to try to connect all my family members better, which are spread out all over ten buck two. And try to organize all my giveaway entries. It seems like I can accomplish all those things and more. i will wait and see.
You are so right. I’m eager to hear how it works for you
Why is this open to Canada? The Kindle Fire doesn’t even work in Canada.
If you win, I will buy it from you. Don’t sweat it
I’d love it to work on projects with my sister!
Perfect use case
Thank you Warren! This is just the kind of “thingie” I need to keep on track with my all-too-many-projects!!! I signed up and will start using it this morning [need my coffee and breakfast first :-)]

Thank you for this giveaway and I would give this to my nephew because I am a senior and just becoming technically involved .I just started using twitter and face book and that is because I just started a hobby entering Sweepstakes and contests.I am learning as I go along .As far as developing a think tank or forum mine would be about the plight of people such as myself decent folk caught in the crossfire of scoundrels and hoodlums also living in the inner cities causing decent folk to fear for their lives and the lives of family friends etc So if I were to win I would let my great nephew have the prize because thru all the chaos we live thru he excels in school and would put it to good use.

Well, I can’t wait to have “access” to Tracky in full. It sounds like it would be really beneficial from what I can tell so far. I’m very busy with being a work at home mother with my own business & trying to juggle the demands of family & toddlers with networking can be quite tricky! It’s well worth it for the satisfaction of doing what I love though. I think this could help! Thanks Warren!

This is my first time here, looks like a great site! Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I’m curious to see what Tracky will be like too.
I would use it to make grocery lists and plan vacations. Also, there was no link to ‘like’ your facebook page.
Tracky could help us get more organized
I think Tracky is an interesting concept. Its seems there is a wide range of things to do, but all have a common goal of getting people together for common reasons. I would utilize the feature of vacation planning with family. My family and my brothers family plan on going on vacation at the end of July and since we live in different states this would be a great way to put our ideas, deals and anything else we can think of doing. I also love the idea that it is work related. You can’t really get that into work issues on other network sites and Tracky can be something that would be a great way to do that.
I’d use Tracky to help organize my life. I think I’d use it help prioritize all my to-dos and housework and keep me on-track with my writing.
I would use it to better help my organization 🙂
I would use it to break up big tasks into manageable pieces — maybe assigning certain things to different people.
Sounds like a plan. Here’s a VIP code that will let you register now

We are planning a whole family vacation this summer and with 5 families we have a lot of “tracking” to do! This would be a great help!
I did not know that there was a Kindle with wi-fi and the ability to watch videos. Good to know.
Would Tracky be able to help me to find recipes using certain ingredients (more than 1 ingredient) in my Word documents? I copy recipes from the Internet or other source in Word. I started out itemizing them in Excel by type, location (page number after I printed them) and 3 main ingredients. I fell waaaaaaaaaay behind in documenting them (like, maybe, a five inch stack!). So, even though I know I have a recipe, I cannot find it without an hour of searching. Please tell me you can help.
Several of the Kindle’s have wifi. Most of the newer ones.
Tracky will work on any web browser. They aren’t open yet, but you can register for early access with my VIP code “ontracky” (minus the quote marks)

If I used Tracky, it would be to help plan a vacation with friends.
**** NOTE: ****
I received the following error message inside Rafflecopter in reference to liking Warren Whitlock on Facebook: “Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in.”
I did a search of the ‘net & found the following Facebook page so I followed it: https://www.facebook.com/GoWarren I hope that’s the correct one.
Janet.. That’s fine.
Good luck on the contest.

As for using it…probably family vacations and get to gethers, if I could convince others in the family to join.
I would use it to help get all the sister-in-laws to plan out the summer together. We all send the kids to stay with the grandparents for a week… and we have to coordinate that with the 4 summer birthdays!! 🙂

Thank you for this opportunity! 🙂
I am unsure about tracky, will do some research…
I did what Janet did Re: liking Warren Whitlock…
I’m a student so I really think that Tracky will come in handy for Large group projects. It could be a centralized location to communicate instead of emailing, FB messaging, etc. it would allow everybody in the group to see who is doing what, what needs to be done and what we have already accomplished. I think with Tracky, I MIGHT not despise group projects so much 🙂 Such a great idea!!
to get organized
Tracky will help with my business and keep in organized.
I love organizing but need for more time & ideas.
would love to help organize group trips and vacations. Get everyone involved.
never heard of tracky, will have to go check it out
to get my family to help plan family holidays

I’m working on an open source software project right now; once it matures a bit, it might be interesting to use Tracky to organize the project and/or find other like-minded developers.

i hope to increase traffic/support for our rescue!
I would love a Kindle Fire
I’d use it to organize blog posts etc (we have a family & cooking blog, so would set schedules for everyone).
