I’ve been talking with David Greschler and his team at Microsoft about their mission to bring virtualization and cloud computing to us all. Some of my friends on Twitter have asked what all the fuss is about, so I”ll explain here.
Computing “in the cloud” is using computer power that is outside your own machine. Essentially, you are doing this everytime you access a web site, view your email online or join a social network.
Virtualization is a breakthrough that allows companies to use just the computing power they need. This will lower costs, save energy and bring a lot more service to you where and when you need them.
If you have questions about cloud computing, virtualization or how to create a vision for your enterprise, just TWEET to my friend David Greschler (@DGreschler on Twitter) or post a comment here.
A new study shows that adoption of this technology is the next big thing in computing and will affect us all. You may not need to know HOW it work.. but do take a moment and watch this video for an overview.
I’m working on running my entire business on “the cloud”. We use Google Apps for email, word processing, and calendar. And we are looking at doing invoicing and accounting all on an online platform. And we store files and share them using Soonr.

Looking forward to learning about book marketing from Warren Whitlock and the team. My first book comes out in March 2010.

Hi Warren,
We met briefly at the 140 Conference. I saw from a tweet by “Weird China” that you will be interviewing him. I have to warn you, this man is a cheat and a scammer. He is dangerous and working with a convicted criminal. You can ask if he’s associated with a gentleman named Lonnie Hodge (he is). Lonnie is a con artist who was jailed for attempted murder of his mother-in-law (http://cases.justia.com/us-court-of-appeals/F3/259/549/575730/ – scroll down to the footnotes). I can’t warn you strongly enough about this guy. He has 77,000 twitter followers using black hat techniques, and he uses his contacts to set up scams. Ask him for a business card. None. Ask him for a phone number. None. Try to find anything about him that is traceable, and you won’t find anything. Because he’s a grifter and a liar. And he will use you to gain credibility, making you a pawn in his schemes. Please, steer clear. Thanks for your time.
